In a funk - I guess it is because I have too much going on right now. Or maybe because of losing sleep from all the power losses from the storms that have been hitting our area. Most people sleep through a middle of the night power loss. We sleep with a box fan as our white noise and the loss of power makes it hell to try and sleep. This happened on Friday and then again last night. Friday is not so bad when you don't have to be at work the following morning.
I did accomplish some things over the weekend. DD brought home a nurse's fabric she wanted made into car blankets for her two boys. I don't normally take commission work but this lady was so excited about it that I succumbed to the task. I knocked them out over the weekend:
I think they turned out cute. She purchased rick-rack and wanted it used as piping. That was pretty tricky and no, they're not perfect. However, I believe I did a pretty good job for being a virgin. DD thought they turned out really cute so I guess all is well with newbie sewing. She did warn the lady that I'm not a seamstress and nothing perfect comes from my sewing machine. I also zipped the sides of the lime green furry blanket for GBaby. He loves it but I'm glad that is the only project with that fabric. It jammed up my machine every 6 inches and one time I had to pull the entire feed area apart to unjam it. I think the furry fiber is hated by the machine.
I worked on hyphen-boy a tiny bit. I completed two of the triangle areas. I guess that counts for something. I was busy playing with GBaby, cleaning house, doing laundry and running to work for the Theatre Youth camp meeting. GBaby had an unexpected (to him) blast. I think he will enjoy the week long summer camp. Theatre people are a different breed and I think they will bring out even more self-esteem for the little guy. Learning to be dramatic will not be a trick for him but showing it to the world will be.
DH was quite busy, as evidenced by this picture. His dad came over and assisted on both Saturday and Sunday. What a guy - who would guess that a 70+ man would look this good and still be getting around like he does!?
